Position Description:


RESPONSIBILITIES
· Initial greeting and welcoming of all guests upon entering the restaurant.
· Providing dining and general hotel information to guests.
· Co-ordination of the dining room's seating arrangements by planning ahead and anticipating fluctuations in business, using forecasts, A/D sheets, Daily Function Notices and liasing with other Hotel and Food & Beverage departments.
· Responsible for a $1000.00 float and clearing up all overages and shortages.
· An understanding of the machines with respect to credit cards, cash handling, direct billing, advanced deposits, personal checks & foreign currency.
· Seating guests in a prompt and organized fashion to maintain service flow for Servers.
· Ensure the Servers are able to provide prompt, courteous and efficient service to the guest by assisting as required.
· Ordering of supplies for daily operation adhering to inventory controls ordering procedures.
· Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required.
· Ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the Health & Safety program.
· Conduct frequent inspections of the Poppy Brasserie areas, reporting any deficiencies in equipment or aesthetics.

QUALIFICATIONS
· Previous experience in the food and beverage industry.
· Friendly and outgoing; able to smile under pressure and maintain a professional demeanour at all times
· Experience handling cash - Minimum 2 years cashiering or equivalent.
· Experience with computerized cash registers, and customer service skills.
· Knowledge of Hotel, Lake Louise, and F&B Outlets a must.
· Self motivated decision maker with proven organizational skills.
· Displays high initiative requiring minimal supervision and direction.
· Working knowledge of the Micros system.
