Student Work Experience Program

Are you a hospitality student enrolled in a community college or university program who would like to gain valuable work experience? If so, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts offers you the chance to showcase your talents at one of our luxurious Canadian resorts through our Student Work Experience Program (SWEP).

The Program

The SWEP is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in a variety of entry-level positions. You will have the opportunity to apply what you've learned in the classroom to actual day-to-day hotel operations, while living in one of Canada's most beautiful settings.

Applicants must be available to work the entire summer season. Summer contract completion is an important criterion for subsequent employment with our hotels.

This orientation will welcome you to the hotel and provide a general overview of the specific property. You will then continue into your department for job specific orientation and skills training.

Throughout the summer, you will have opportunities to discuss the many facets of our organization with experienced industry professionals.

Learning Opportunities
Throughout the summer students may have the opportunity to experience cross-training in other positions and departments. The cross-training process varies by hotel as it is dependant on business volumes.
